Mérk Municipality

MFP-FAE/2021 - Promotion of Responsible Livestock Farming 2021, announced in the framework of the Hungarian Village Programme 2021

Name of beneficiary: Local Government of Mérk Nagyközség

Project title: Promoting responsible animal husbandry in Mérken

Amount of non-repayable aid: 1.154.599 Ft

Rate of support: 100%

Project implementation period: 2021.11.24 – 2022.09.28.

A short presentation of the project: Dogs and cats can be found as pets in almost every house in the municipality. Regular compulsory vaccination of the animals is possible, but the cost of this is a significant burden for the municipality and its residents. The neutering of animals is important to prevent unwanted overpopulation, but many residents cannot afford the cost and the municipality's budget cannot support this. The project involved the neutering, vaccination against rabies and transponder tagging of pets of residents who requested it.
